Many
drummers have vastly different muffling techniques, but we have
found that this approach works the best for us.
The overall approach is to glue foam rubber to the inside shell
of each bass drum so that it hangs over the rims a little bit
and pushes on the inside of the head, thus muffling the head’s
ringing. There are three big advantages to this method:
1 – The drums sound great.
2 – The foam doesn’t have to be
replaced or reglued when you replace a head.
3 – The foam is inside the drum and won’t
get dirty or ripped up.
So
here are the steps to success:
Measure
your bass drums and write down the foam you need using the look-up
table.
